For more than a decade, one wing of The Landing at Park Shore remained unfinished.
On September 22, construction officially began on the A-Wing, an 89-unit condominium development that will complete The Landing at Park Shore and move the long-planned project into its next phase.
The groundbreaking brought together CG Schmidt, Madisen Maher Architects, developers Emem Group and Maharani, and financing partners Tri City National Bank and Impact Seven, along with St. Francis Mayor Ken Tutaj, buyers, and community members.
“For a project that has been in planning for so long, seeing A-Wing officially break ground is a significant milestone,” said Mike Ochoa, Project Manager at CG Schmidt. “Now that construction is underway, our focus shifts to executing the plan and bringing the project from the ground up to completion.”
At 120,000 square feet, A-Wing will include four residential floors and two levels of parking, with one-, two- and three-bedroom condominium units. The building will also feature shared indoor and outdoor amenities and gathering spaces.
CG Schmidt is coordinating with the development team, design partners and trades throughout the build. Work will progress through site development, structural construction, building enclosure, and interior finishes.
“From a field perspective, there are a lot of moving pieces that have to come together to keep a project like this on track,” said Kris Brakken, Superintendent at CG Schmidt. “Our team is focused on maintaining quality and safety and making sure each phase is ready for the next as the building takes shape.”
Once complete, A-Wing will bring The Landing at Park Shore together as one connected condominium community along the St. Francis lakefront.
“Completing A-Wing is about more than adding another building to the lakefront,” said Bryce Unger, Vice President at CG Schmidt. “It brings the vision for The Landing at Park Shore together as a complete community and represents continued investment in St. Francis. We’re proud to be part of a project that will have a lasting presence in the community.”
Construction is now underway, with completion anticipated in 2027.
