Milwaukee Mental Health Emergency Center

HEALTHCARE

Milwaukee County, in partnership with Advocate Aurora Health, Ascension Wisconsin, Children’s Wisconsin and Froedtert Health, established the Mental Health Emergency Center (MHEC) in response to the mental health crisis in Milwaukee County. The center serves as a national model for emergency crisis care that is patient-centered, recovery-oriented, and culturally informed.
This 12,000 SF project includes six inpatient beds and offers 24/7 crisis mental health assessments, stabilization, treatment and transitional care for adults and children.
