Earlivia Anderson Named 2025 Journeywoman of the Year

CG Schmidt is proud to announce that Earlivia Anderson has been named Journeywoman of the Year by The Daily Reporter’s Women in Construction Awards. This award celebrates women who exemplify leadership, technical expertise and a commitment to advancing the construction industry.

With eight years of experience in the trades—including the past several years as a journeyman—Earlivia has consistently demonstrated excellence on the job site. Her technical skill, strong work ethic and positive leadership have earned her the respect of colleagues, clients and industry partners alike.

“Earlivia is the kind of professional every project team values—highly skilled, hardworking and a dedicated mentor,” said Steve Flores, Superintendent of CG Schmidt. “She brings more than expertise to the field; she brings energy, compassion and a genuine commitment to encouraging others and shaping the construction industry.”

Beyond her daily responsibilities, Earlivia plays an active role in advocating for diversity and inclusion within the trades. She has participated in numerous speaking engagements, including CG Schmidt’s Women in the Trades Week panel discussion, job and career fairs and presentations to apprentices at the Carpenters Training Center and students through organizations like Mindful Staffing.

Each summer, Earlivia also volunteers with Milwaukee Tool’s Neighborhood Build initiative, helping restore up to 10 homes annually in underserved areas of Milwaukee. Her contributions extend far beyond construction—demonstrating her commitment and impact to community engagement and mentorship.

Recently, Earlivia took the role of safety lead on CG Schmidt’s Northwestern Mutual Life (NML) project, one of the most complex and high-risk job sites in our portfolio. She has excelled in developing and implementing comprehensive safety plans, ensuring that our crews remain protected while meeting the demands of a challenging build.

Known for her high energy and team-first attitude, Earlivia is a source of motivation and leadership on every job site she joins. Her ability to inspire others, while consistently delivering high-quality work, makes her a standout not only at CG Schmidt, but across the industry.
