Green County Family YMCA

The Green County Family YMCA, now renamed the Colony Brands Green County Family YMCA, underwent a major expansion made possible by a transformative gift from Colony Brands. This addition is thoughtfully designed to support youth development, healthy living, and community engagement, creating a welcoming environment for all ages.

Scope of Work: The project includes a 60,000-square-foot addition that significantly expands the YMCA’s program and activity spaces. Key features include a dedicated Childcare Center accommodating up to 86 children ages four and under, and a Youth Development Center supporting afterschool and summer programming for children ages five to twelve. The expansion also introduces a Healthy Living Center with modern fitness equipment, three fitness studios, and an ADA-accessible indoor track designed to maximize natural light. A Kids Zone provides up to 90 minutes of drop-in care, allowing families to fully utilize the facility’s wellness offerings.

Community-Centered Design: Designed to promote inclusivity and accessibility, the expansion creates spaces that support physical health, youth development, and family engagement. From early childhood education to adult fitness and recreation, the facility fosters a strong sense of community by offering flexible, welcoming environments that encourage connection, activity, and overall well-being.
