SARAH DUNN AWARDED 2023 BIZTIMES NOTABLE WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION & DESIGN

CG Schmidt’s, Sarah Dunn, Senior Vice President, is recognized for her accomplishments and contributions in our industry.

SARAH DUNN – Notable Women in Construction & Design

CG Schmidt, a Milwaukee-based construction management firm, is proud to announce Sarah Dunn as recipient of BizTimes’ 2023 Notable Women in Construction & Design. As Senior Vice President, Sarah is CG Schmidt’s first female executive in its 102-year history and directs all business development and sales strategies for Milwaukee-Madison offices. Throughout her 13-year career at the firm, Sarah’s ongoing community engagement, fundraising and diversity, equity and inclusion efforts have made a positive, lasting impact across the state. Sarah is a champion for women in construction, advocates for women and underrepresented business participation on all CG Schmidt projects and serves as a mentor to women pursuing careers as professionals and tradespersons in the field.

Sarah’s commitment to expanding opportunities for diverse candidates takes the form of mentorship, membership and workforce development. She is a mentor and role model for high school students with whom she offers college and career advice, and she is a participating member of multiple women’s professional networks including the Brauds Network, Chief and the Women’s Networking Group, in which she established the female leadership group, “Ladies with Extraordinary Talents.” In partnership with the City of Racine, Sarah set and successfully led the integrated team to exceed the construction employment goal with small, minority owned businesses and underrepresented populations within Racine County. What was a 25% goal of participation on Phase I of the Belle City Square project achieved 48% participation upon the project’s close due to Sarah’s diligent direction and community engagement. The Mayor of Racine adopted the model as a standard workforce plan for development projects due to CG Schmidt exceeding the goals.

Throughout her tenure, Sarah’s ability to engage and guide new and existing clients in realizing their vision has resulted in successful referendums for school districts across Wisconsin and some of the year’s most influential, state-of-the-art projects—including Milwaukee’s Journal Square and the Milwaukee Athletic Club Historic Rehabilitation. Sarah’s continued vision for CG Schmidt includes geographic expansion beyond the Midwest market, longstanding client relationships and thriving communities.

Sarah’s nomination is published in today’s issue of BizTimes Milwaukee and can also be found online. Learn more about Sarah’s professional and community engagements:
