Dan Duerrwaechter and Tom Pagel promoted to Project Executives and Brian Medina promoted to MEP Director

CG Schmidt is pleased to announce the promotions of three well-deserved employees: Brian Medina – MEP/VDC Director, Tom Pagel – Project Executive, and Dan Duerrwaechter – Project Executive. Each employee brings extensive expertise and experience in their roles, and we are excited to celebrate their achievements. Please join CG Schmidt in congratulating Brian, Tom and Dan on their outstanding contributions to their departments and to the company.

BRIAN MEDINA – Director of MEP/VDC

As the Director of MEP/VDC, Brian will continue to lead and oversee CG Schmidt’s in-house MEP/VDC team, and expand CG Schmidt’s valuable MEP/VDC services to an increased number of clients throughout the state.

Brian works with clients and partners to better understand a project’s goals, align decision making and pave the way for innovation throughout the lifecycle of a project. Mark Lillesand, Vice President, said, “Brian continues to introduce new technologies into our company and leads CG Schmidt’s internal CGS University training courses to keep us informed and up-to-date on MEP/VDC trends. Brian’s values and the values of CG Schmidt are very closely aligned, which is shown in his work.”

Brian’s unique approach to MEP services has led him to play a significant role in many of CG Schmidt’s groundbreaking projects. His MEP leadership includes recent work with Advocate Aurora Health on the 84South Health Center project, implementing complex MEP prefabrication innovations; Froedtert Health – West Bend Replacement Clinic, Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, Fischer Paper Products, the School District of Wisconsin Dells High School and the Landmark Credit Union Headquarters project.

Brian continues to introduce new technologies into our company and leads CGS University training courses to keep us informed and up-to-date on MEP/VDC trends. Brian’s values and the values of CG Schmidt are very closely aligned, which you can see in his work. It’s for these and many other reasons that Brian is being promoted to Director of MEP/VDC.

TOM PAGEL – Project Executive

As Project Executive, Tom will oversee and expand CG Schmidt’s services to more clients throughout the state.

Tom has a solid record of adding value to every project he has managed. He’s helped shape our business around the idea of providing clients the most value for their facility investment and he applies critical thought and care to every task, large or small. He has a way of running large, complex projects in a smart and seemingly effortless way. “Tom is extraordinary at making every team member involved in a project feel the importance, dignity and meaning in their job and how it contributes to the completion of our clients’ goals,” said Mark Lillesand, Vice President. “Tom helps connect the dots between individual roles and the goals of the whole project. When people feel that connection, it ignites the whole project team.”

Tom has been a valued employee of CG Schmidt for over 16 years, building more than a few of the company’s highest-profile projects in Southeastern Wisconsin. His construction project leadership includes the expansive Columbia St. Mary’s Eastside Medical Complex Redevelopment, University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee Kenwood Interdisciplinary Research Complex, Northwestern Mutual Tower and Commons, Advocate Aurora 84South Health Center, and is currently managing the Landmark Credit Union Headquarters project.

Tom drives toward results on large, complex projects while keeping the owner’s mission in clear focus. He aligns the project team to recognize and tackle challenges early, to pave the way for project success. His track record of leading key projects to complete on time and on budget including Landmark Credit Union and 84South is proof of his aptitude as a project executive.
