The West Allis-West Milwaukee Rec Center project includes the remodel of the current building as well as an addition. Highlights of the project include an indoor walking track, full size gym, dance and fitness studio, preschool learning center, large multipurpose/meeting rooms with an attached kitchen, convenient parking, updated office operations, a permanent home for the Recreation and Community Services Department, and a beautiful park-like setting with upgraded access. Furthermore, the brick is being re-purposed to build the retaining wall commemorating the Franklin D. Roosevelt Works Project that build the wall during the Great Depression.
