District gets opportunity to celebrate building completion

CG Schmidt Joins Wisconsin Dells High School in Dedication of New Building

It’s never too late to celebrate! Wisconsin Dells School District joined CG Schmidt Construction, Plunkett Raysich Architects (PRA), Architectural Design Consultants, Inc. (ADCI) and members of the community in a dedication ceremony on Sunday, June 6, at 12:00 p.m. at the Wisconsin Dells High School. The event consisted of an open house and dedication with comments from consultants, district staff and board, with opportunities to tour the new space, chat with student representatives and members of the faculty that helped make this new facility possible.

To bring this high school building to completion, it required creative vision, detailed planning and most importantly, perseverance! As a board…we would like to thank the many team players that brought us to this celebration today. We appreciate our consultants commitment to investing in our local community and utilizing local businesses and subcontractors, putting district residents to work on the project.

Jennifer Gavinski, Wisconsin Dells School District Board of Education President

The dedication portion of the event included a prelude and postlude from the Wisconsin Dells High School Band, special thank you’s to key stakeholders and featured speeches from the Wisconsin Dells School District Administrator, School Board President, High School Principal and leaders from CG Schmidt, PRA and ADCI.

Not only has it been a privilege and an honor to transform the learning environments to prepare students for the future, but to see first-hand the benefits this project has had on the greater community.

Eric Schmidt, Senior Vice President of CG Schmidt

Prior to CG Schmidt’s involvement, the district referendum failed twice with a different consulting team; but with CG Schmidt on board, the 2018 referendum was a success and the school was built on an 80-acre site near a popular golf course in the area. The District was fortunate to have the village and city pledge $23.5 million of the $33.685 total from a partially-funded private resort investment, and accepted donated land from a local family, as well. The 208,889 square foot space spans over two levels, containing a three-court gymnasium with upper-level track, STEAM labs, a student culinary kitchen, hydroponics and agronomy labs, monumental learning stairs, and athletic fields.
