CIERRA GRIFFIN – Project Engineer – VDC
Cierra just completed her Bachelor’s Degree from Marquette University in Civil Engineering in 2020. She has held 3 internships with us joining as a Project Engineer, working with our Special Projects Group and now our VDC Department. While Cierra has been at CG Schmidt, she also volunteered and helped with the LAUNCH program through Elmbrook School District and Marquette Career Night. She does an exceptional job describing our culture and encouraging students to pursue a career with CG Schmidt.
ERIN COWAN – Marketing Specialist
Erin earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications and Public Relations from Clarke University, in Dubuque, Iowa, and a certificate in Videography from Madison Media Institute. Most recently, she was a Creative Specialist with AmpliPhi, collaborating with the marketing team to design organic and paid ads, creating video, motion graphics, 2D animation and digital designs for social media clients. Prior to that, she held the positions of Web Specialist and Forms Design Specialist for CUNA Mutual Group.
Erin and her two year-old daughter, Lyla, live in Madison. They enjoy trying new restaurants and checking out family activities around Madison. In her spare time, Erin is an avid photographer. Dogs are her favorite subjects!
PAM LYONS – Proposal & Communications Coordinator
A feature article that Pam wrote her senior year in high school was published by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and inspired her to pursue journalism. After high school, she attended UW-Milwaukee and he earned her degree in Journalism and Mass Communications. Pam spent the last 13 years in the real estate industry at Cardinal Capital Management and most recently held the position of Marketing and Event Coordinator. In that role, she was responsible for responding to RFPs, organizing and answering proposals, planning and managing events such as client events, ground breakings and press conferences, and creating email and digital marketing pieces.
In her spare time, Pam enjoys spending time with her three beautiful nieces and goddaughter, following trending hairstyles and taking selfies! When they aren’t around, you can find her binge-watching a crime series. She is looking forward to the summer and all the great things that Milwaukee has to offer – festivals, deep-fried foods, street are and live music!
JANA FURMAN – Receptionist & Office Assistant
Jana moved to Madison from the La Crosse area seven years ago, and attended Madison College where she received an associate degree in Event Management. Through her involvement with Meeting Professionals International and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, she applied her event management skills as Co-Lead of IronKids Wisconsin Fun Run, The American Cancer Society 5K/10K Run Walk and the Wisconsin Medical Society Foundations’ Annual Fundraising Dinner and Silent Auction. Most recently, she worked as an Administrative Assistant with The Bruce Company where she supported five departments (Aquatics, Landscaping, Irrigation, Sales and Corporate Administration) with daily activities and special projects. Her wide variety of responsibilities ranged from reception and administrative support to time keeping and data entry to scheduling landscaping appointments and seasonal décor for clients.
A fun fact about Jana is that by the time she turned 18, she had joined the Stoddard-Bergen Fire Department as a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT. In her spare time, Jana loves to be outdoors going camping, hiking, gardening, and attending concerts.
CODY INGWELL – Project Engineer
You may be thinking that Cody looks a little familiar, and you would be right! He has interned for the past three summers on projects for both the Madison and Milwaukee offices. In 2018, he was assigned to the Baraboo High School project with Nicole Cuellar. In 2019, he worked with Dan Duerrwaechter at Whitnall School District. And, this past summer, he worked with Ben Falls at Swallow School District and Steve Gilbert, at Cedarburg. In May 2021, he graduated with honors, from Milwaukee School of Engineering with a bachelor degree in Construction Management. When Cody joins us, he will be bringing his education full circle! He will be working with Tony Buss on Monroe School District at Northside Elementary, where he attended school as a child.
Cody and his wife, Tabitha, were married in August 2020 and they just welcomed their daughter, Ella.
KENYA MOORE-DEERING – Project Engineer
Kenya earned her bachelors in Architectural Studies from UW-Milwaukee and recently completed her Master’s in Construction Management from UW-Stout. Some of you may already know her from her years as a journeyman carpenter with CG Schmidt. Her projects included JF Ahern, Cottages at Cedar Run, Moorland Reserve Health Center, Froedtert Hospital Emergency Department Expansion and Northwestern Mutual. She will be working part-time at the Corporate Office with Brad Fierst, supporting several projects and learning the Project Management side of construction.
In her spare time, Kenya enjoys visiting historic locations and museums and is fascinated by the buildings in particular. Our hope is that she will be able to support a team assigned to one of the upcoming historic renovation projects.
