19 CG SCHMIDT EMPLOYEES ACHIEVE LEED ACCREDITATION
CG Schmidt now has 19 employees who have obtained LEED Accreditation. These individuals completed the examination process that tested their understanding of green building practices and principles, and familiarity with LEED requirements, resources, and processes. This certification provides a link between LEED standards and professional practice. It provides the industry with an increased level of confidence and professionalism through the use of accredited practitioners and promotes a higher understanding of LEED and green building. Accreditation also supports the United States Green Building Council’s (USGBC) mission of transforming the built environment.
To become LEED accredited, it is recommended the candidate has tenure in green building and construction industry knowledge, familiarity with the documentation process for LEED certified projects and knowledge of LEED credit intents, requirements, submittals, technologies and strategies within their discipline. Also, the candidate should possess practical working experience with multiple design disciplines, understanding of life cycle cost and benefits of LEED and familiarity with LEED resources and processes.
