CG SCHMIDT BACKS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
CG Schmidt Sponsors Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign
During the week of October 8 through October 12, all 300 of CG Schmidt’s construction staff wore pink hard hats, “Building Awareness” about the importance of the early detection of breast cancer. The campaign culminated in a fundraising event sponsored by CG Schmidt that benefited the Milwaukee Chapter of the American Cancer Society and After Breast Cancer Diagnosis (ABCD).
The Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital jobsite at Prospect and North Avenues had the most personnel in pink, totaling nearly 100.
West Bend Mutual Insurance’s headquarters was host to a brief presentation on Wednesday, October 10th. Workers in pink joined leaders from both CG Schmidt and West Bend Mutual Insurance, as Tony Warren, President and CEO of WBMI presented a $2,000 check to Melodie Wilson of After Breast Cancer Diagnosis.
Fox 6’s morning show featured Gus Gnorski broadcasting live from our Columbia St. Mary’s jobsite on Thursday, October 11th. A series of interviews were conducted that day, one of which was with Senior Vice President Dan Davis. Dan had the opportunity to explain just how we came up with the idea for the pink hard hat campaign, and what we hoped to accomplish with it. Simply stated, the purpose was to get people’s attention and encourage women to have their annual mammogram.
