STATEWIDE OVATION AWARD FOR CORPORATE SUPPORT
Incentive Gallery honored for community support Winner of the 2008 CG Schmidt Ovation Award For Corporate Support - Statewide
Milwaukee, September 17, 2008 – CG Schmidt, one of Wisconsin’s largest construction management firms, has announced that Incentive Gallery, a Milwaukee-based promotional marketing firm that provides branded merchandise is the recipient of the 2008 CG Schmidt Ovation Award for Corporate Support - Statewide. In addition, honorable mention was awarded to Schiebel Halaska, a strategic marketing communications agency.
The CG Schmidt Ovation Awards are designed to inspire giving in the small to medium-sized business community by honoring smaller, lesser-known companies and their employees that give with all the vigor of larger, more prominent businesses. The Ovation Award for Corporate Support recognizes companies that have created long-term partnerships with non-profit organizations through financial or in-kind support, board involvement and the encouragement of employee volunteerism. The awards were presented at the Donor’s Forum of Wisconsin’s Ninth Annual Statewide Conference on Philanthropy on September 17, 2008.
Incentive Gallery and its owner, Linda McCabe, were nominated by Sojourner Truth House, for donating time, money and talent. Incentive Gallery offers Sojourner Truth House company resources including corporate contacts and staff to recruit donors and organize fundraisers.
Sojourner Truth House operates Milwaukee’s oldest and largest shelter for abused women and children. It provides shelter, safety, support, education and advocacy services for thousands of Milwaukee families. Its aim is to break the cycle of domestic violence.
Linda McCabe and her Incentive Gallery staff have made significant contributions to Sojourner Truth House. McCabe organizes two annual fundraising events: the Fashion Show Auction and the Brewers Wives Tailgate Auction. Not only does she organize the events and recruit volunteers for them, but she personally donates, as well. The events are major sources of income for the Sojourner Truth House and their success is due largely to the dedication and caring of Incentive Gallery. At the Donor’s Forum of Wisconsin’s Partners in Philanthropy Breakfast, McCabe accepted the CG Schmidt Ovation Award for Corporate Support. In honor of the award, the CG Schmidt Foundation made a $5,000 contribution to Sojourner Truth House.
Honorable mention winner, Schiebel Halaska and its principal owner, Mary Schiebel were nominated by Centro Legal for their donation of pro-bono marketing assistance. Centro Legal is a Milwaukee-based, non-profit organization that provides affordable legal services for low-income clients. The Schiebel Halaska team donated their marketing talents and time by helping Centro Legal communicate its message to the public and in branding Centro Legal as a nonprofit agency. The company assisted Centro Legal by donating pro-bono design services and creating a new logo and tagline, client brochure and poster, and a media campaign complete with press releases, media contacts and communications. John Schiebel, CEO of Scheibel Halaska, accepted the honorable mention award on behalf of Mary Schiebel and the Schiebel Halaska staff. The CG Schmidt Foundation made a $1,000 contribution to Centro Legal for their nomination.
CG Schmidt will offer the Ovation Award for Volunteerism - Statewide next April. Nomination forms will be available at wwww.cgschmidt.com.
