In 2005, Bucyrus International celebrated 125 years as a leader in the production of surface mining equipment by breaking ground on the renovation of their Rawson Avenue campus in South Milwaukee.

CG Schmidt recently completed the first phase on the 40-acre site North of Rawson Avenue, providing the space necessary to meet the company's demands while anticipating future industry requirements. The project included the demolition of several original buildings, making room for a 144,000-square-foot, high bay manufacturing facility. The 60' high facility includes one machining bay, two welding bays with 30 weld stations and eight 110-ton overhead cranes.

The North of Rawson project also includes 19,000 square feet of employee support, office space and locker facilities, as well as the fabrication shop and fab-to-weld staging areas.

The South of Rawson Renovation project, which began in Fall of 2006, will complete the transformation of the campus.
