CG SCHMIDT EMPLOYEES OBTAIN LEED ACCREDITATION
CG Schmidt is proud to announce that Dave Albrecht, Rob Chartier, John Dube', Dan Duerrwaechter, Eric Ellison, Steve Gilbert, David Grayson, Mike Hoyng, Mark Lillesand, Darrell Mercer, Greg Morelli, Tom Pagel, Emilio Ramirez and John Zagorski have received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Professional Accreditation. The group joins Dan Chovanec, Jackie Eicher, Mike Hoadley, Lisa Jelen and Bryce Unger, who obtained accreditation earlier this year.
These individuals completed the examination process that tested their understanding of green building practices and principles, and familiarity with LEED requirements, resources, and processes. This certification provides a link between LEED standards and professional practice. It provides the industry with an increased level of confidence and professionalism through the use of accredited practitioners and promotes a higher understanding of LEED and green building. Accreditation also supports the United States Green Building Council's (USGBC) mission of transforming the built environment.
To become LEED accredited, it is recommended the candidate has tenure in green building and construction industry knowledge, familiarity with the documentation process for LEED certified projects and knowledge of LEED credit intents, requirements, submittals, technologies and strategies within their discipline. Also, the candidate should possess practical working experience with multiple design disciplines, understanding of life cycle cost and benefits of LEED and familiarity with LEED resources and processes.
The city of Milwaukee has recently adopted new initiatives for greener buildings. CG Schmidt is dedicated to this sustainable design and construction as exhibited not only though the company's involvement in WGBA and WasteCap Wisconsin, but also through the implementation of these principles in their own corporate headquarters. CG Schmidt was among the first to build a headquarters that incorporates sustainable principles.
